A Month Later…
Wow, I’m a terrible blogger!
A month? And no new posts? Terrible!
Where do I start after so long?
Tabitha is a month old now, she’s a really good baby. Olivia absolutely loves her, too. Tabs started off pretty quiet, only sleeping and eating, but she’s starting to wake up more now, which means more crying. It’s amazing how different she is from Olivia. To be honest, I just figured that when Tabs was born it would just be another Olivia. I’ve realized in the past month that she’s her own person and she has different wants and needs just like anybody else. I don’t know what I was thinking.
Tabs hates, well not hates, but doesn’t enjoy being swaddled. She doesn’t like sleeping on her back either, this girl can sleep so sound and comfortably on her tummy. They say it’s bad, but she really does enjoy it – and so do I! Who doesn’t love a peaceful baby?? They also look completely different! Tabs has this little bitty head, and although her cheeks are starting to fill out, they are nothing like the jowls that O had!
Check out their one month pictures…

Hahahaha, I’m not writing this to mean or anything, but I want to make sure to remember this…Tabs is the stinkiest baby! The poor thing has a little gas problem, her farts can be the loudest things ever! And, wooooohooo! They are stiiiiinkyyy! You would think she pooped every time, but you check and there’s nothing in her diaper! I swear, it’s payback for me not wanting a boy. I totally jinxed it by saying that boys are stinky, so I therefor I only want girls. I hope she grows out of it!
So, yeah. Olivia is just loving her little sister. And she is definitely fitting into her new role of big sister. It’s amazing that just over a year ago O was a newborn and now she’s just a little person. I have just been loving her up so much. She’s turning into a really good listener and she’s picking up on so much more of what’s going on. She’s just plain entertaining. I will say though, that the kick she gets out of being the center of attention scares me a little bit. I’m imagining her and her fearless self, as the life of the party in high school and that just scares the buhjesus out of me. I’m imagining beer bongs and tabletops and gawd knows what else!
Here are some pictures that chronicle the happenings of FamiLeezy during the month of June…

Our New Stroller!
Woo Hoo!
So our new all-terrain double stroller is on it’s way! This will be our second double stroller, and contrary to others beliefs, yes, I need two double strollers.
We purchased the Peg Perego Aria Twin 60/40 a couple months ago, and I absolutely love it. I’ve actually been using it for a couple months now, too. I looked a little nuts, only having one child, but it is sooooooo nice. It’s super smooth and ridiculously easy to maneuver that after using just once, I couldn’t go back to using our somewhat crappy Chicco. It’s a 60/40 because one side is bigger than the other, which allows us to put the baby carrier (car seat) in – which is AWESOME. It’s also nice because the 5-pt harness isn’t attached to the back of the seat, allowing Olivia to move around, but still be strapped in. In the Chicco the harness is attached to the back of the seat, so, with her being short, she could never reach the snack tray and wasn’t really able to look around because she was strapped to the seat. That made her uncomfortable and irritated in that stroller. The Peg has solved that problem.
The other reason I love this super light weight stroller, and need it – is because it folds up to 11″! Yes! Eleven inches!! So if our 3rd row seat is up in the Explorer, it still fits in the back. So if we go somewhere and, say, my mom and my sister come with us, we can all go in one car, whereas if we only had the all-terrain stroller, we’d have to take two cars because the stroller wouldn’t fit with the 3rd row up.

Olivia thoroughly enjoying herself at Music in the Park in her Peg stroller…

So the all-terrain stroller is what is going to get me back into shape. It’s my walking stroller, and our park stroller, and our “adventure” stroller. If we wanted to go to Rancho San Antonio to go to Deer Hollow Farm, there’s no way that the Peg would get us there. Those wheels are tiny, made more for super smooth paved surfaces, it doesn’t take bumps very well. The Bumbleride Indie Twin gets through loose gravel like a champ! It also comes with the infant carrier adapter bar, a raincover, & a cupholder. And could it get any cuter?? I think not!
We got it on eBay, and saved about $100, which is awesome! It’s a brand new 2009, too! I love a good deal. I’ll let you know more about how much I love it next week, when it arrives. We’ll be strollin all over town! But isn’t it just fun looking?? I don’t think there’s a more fitting stroller for FamiLeezy…

A Glimpse

Week One

I can’t believe that a week has already gone by!
To tell you the truth, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. The first 2 nights were rough, but we managed, and now it’s gotten pretty routine. Well, how routine could it be in 5 days? Routine enough.
Olivia is adjusting great. She is seriously the cutest 14 month old big sister ever. She loves her baby sister. So far I haven’t really seen any jealousy issues, even while I’m breastfeeding. She’s very curious though, and she loves giving the baby kisses. When we first brought Tabitha home, every time she cried, Olivia would cry too. It was cute. She’s over it now, every once in a while if Tabs cries a lot, which is rare, then Olivia will start to sort of whimper with a very concerned look on her face.
It’s amazing how much Olivia has changed in the week it’s been since Tabs has arrived. I know it’s not all her that has changed, but it seems like she has grown up just so much. Besides the fact that she looks absolutely humongous now, overnight, she has started walking like a champ. Literally overnight. We left for the hospital on Monday morning, we came home Tuesday evening, and there she is. Walking. Everywhere. It’s pretty cool, and it makes things way easier. Just getting out of the car is feasible now, I was wondering how I was going to carry Olivia and the carseat (with baby in it) into the house. But now she walks! I haven’t been in/out of the car by myself yet, but when I am by myself it’ll be way easier. She can walk from the car to the house all on her own! It takes forEVER, she has to stop and check everything out, but she does it on her own nonetheless.
I’m doing great too. Such a difference from Olivia’s birth. I can’t even believe it. If I didn’t have to pregnant for so darn long, and if we won the lottery, I would have like 10 more babies. That’s how easy this delivery was. I’ve been up and going since the birth. I can’t believe how easy it’s been! I didn’t need any stitches, and I think that’s what’s really made the difference. My tummy is little sore & super itchy, from being so stretched out and cramping during the first few days was really uncomfortable, but overall, I feel fabulous.
Tabitha is a great baby, she doesn’t do too much. Sleep, poop, eat, poop & then poop some more. My gawd, this girl can poop. After you leave Kaiser, you have an appointment in the Newborn Club, this is where they monitor the baby’s eating and how much weight they loose/gain. Most babies loose about 10% of their birth weight – Tabitha lost a little more than 10%. She actually lost a whole pound. She was born on Monday, she weighed 8lbs, 2oz. We went into the Newborn Club on Thursday, and she only weighted 7lbs, 2 oz. I think it’s a cruel joke that a mother’s milk doesn’t “come in” for about three days after giving birth. I’m sure that’s why the poor thing had such a bad time the first couple nights – she was so hungry! My milk finally came in (with vengeance!) Thursday afternoon, and by Friday she had gained an ounce and I had gained what felt like 10lbs in just boobs! By Sunday, she was up to 7lbs, 7oz after a ten minute feeding! Just like Olivia, she’s super at feeding. We’ll have a chubstah in no time!

Olivia on the move!
