Way Better
Okay, so I have to apologize for my freak out. And sorry grandma for the F-bombs in the previous post, if you didn’t already read it, just ignore it, it’s no fun.
But I’m doing much, much better now.
Last week was just hectic. Olivia and I started “working” part time and we had a lot of family over later than usual, and she didn’t nap very well during the day. I thought that no nap would result in really good sleep at night, but no such luck. It just ended up in ridiculous amounts of inconsolable screaming. I mean I have never in my life heard a baby scream like this, it was scary. She was over-tired and over-stimulated, and was just not having any of it. What the problem was, was getting her tosleep, holy jeebus, it took over 2 hours of rocking and bouncing and gawd knows what to get her to fall asleep. But once she was out, she was out.
So in happier news, besides those two days of hell, Olivia and I have been having a ton of fun in the mornings. Between 10 & 12 she is in theeeee best mood. It’s my most favorite part of the day, she smiles and laughs and just loves life. She gets a bath, which is her most favorite thing! She just loves the water, we use the baby bath tub in the kitchen sink, and the faucet has the shower spray (as opposed to the stream) and she just loves that, she watches so intently, and when you spray her chest so it hits up under her chin, she just laughs & laughs! It must tickle! And it’s really surprising how much she doesn’t mind the water in her face. I’ve been trying to clean up her baby acne, so I wash her face with this mild organic soap that was recommended, and then I just take the sprayer and rinse off her face and she doesn’t mind at all. Just closes her eyes and takes it. Not once has she cried in the bathtub! After bath time is when I treat her most like my cabbage patch kid, I change her outfit a couple times and try to take lots of pictures. She’s like my little model with all of her outfit changes! It’s so much fun& (hahaha, almost) every day it gets better & better.
This Saturday it was nice because John was home and got to see just how much fun she can be (he’s usually at work between 10-noon during the week). So we had little photo session with his fancy camera. It was great because now she recognizes our voices, so whenever I call her name she looks for me and a lot of the times I can make her smile, I love it! Here are some of the pictures that I took with my point and shoot camera, I couldn’t figure out how to upload the pics that John took….but they are so cute anyways! & isn’t her room pretty??
So today we spent the day shopping for our family portrait outfits. We’re planning on taking the pics next weekend, so I’ll post them sometime next week. I’m really excited. John’s going to take it with all his fancy equipment, and he has a really cool style he’s been working on. I really like the one he took of me when Olivia was a week and a half, except I would have like it more if my tummy was a little less obvious. Oh well. Anyways, so since the style of photography John does, we decided to do themed portrait, a golfing/1950’s theme & a preppy in pink theme. They should both be fun and a little unconventional. Anyways, here’s a little plug, John is doing portraits “professionally”, so if you’re interested in getting pictures taken, he’s available…I’ll post some of his work so you can check it out…
WTF
i’m having a crappy ass day. I just want to run away. (rhyme not intended)
Miss Thang has decided that she hates me. She hates me and has set out to frustrate me to no end with her non-stop blood curdling cries. And to make it worse I have an asshole of a husband that finds it so important to go fckng golfing rather than give me a break. Since when is he so gawddam interested in golf?? What about taking pictures?? Why is that all of a sudden not so important?? AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
I need a fckng drink. Ohhhhh, noooooooo, I can’t! Why??? Because my boobs aren’t working very well, and I can’t pump enough to save for later. WTF?? Why are the gods punishing me?? They know I’m too stubborn and proud to feed Olivia formula, so they’re taking away my milk and leaving me with these empty saggy boobies. Again, WTF??
Squishy
Holy Moly. My baby is definitely not starving! Since we don’t go to the pediatrician’s office too often (our last appt was when she was 2 weeks – she’s 7 now – and our next appt isn’t until the 27th) I really had no idea how much Olivia weighs now. At her 2 week appt she was 7lbs 8oz, so I figured she probably weighs somewhere in the 9lb range. Well, I weighed her today – on a postage scale – and besides being really expensive to mail, I learned that I was way off! She’s a fatty! 11 (yes! ELEVEN) pounds & 5 ounces! Well, now that I look at her, I don’t know why I was so surprised!
Oh man! Take a look at those arms! And she definitely gets those boobs from my side of the family, those are NOT Korean boobies! Hahaha, I love that picture, she is just so cute and squishy!

I had a very nice first Mother’s Day. It was kind of exhausting, we went to breakfast at Rick’s Cafe in downtown Los Altos with John’s parents. If your ever looking for a really good breakfast place, this is it. They only serve breakfast, and they’re only open until 3. Their food is nice and fresh, and the service is good, even on Mother’s Day when it was packed. I’m so boring, I’ve been only been there twice, but ordered the same thing – Bacado Omelet – an omelet with bacon and avacado, it’s delish. Anyways, John had the Eggs Benedict, and that was really good too. Okay, enough of the plug…from there we went to my mom’s house. Eric (my bro) made reservations at Castro Point in downtown Mt.View. The food was fancy and pretty good, the service was horrible tho. The wait staff was just plain ole weird, but we had a good time. It was the first time “the boys” were in charge of a family “event” and they did a pretty good job. Olivia and Daddy got me an appointment for a cut and color, which I’m really excited about, I’m in desperate need for a haircut. I can’t believe how fast my hair has grown. And I’m really excited about the color, I don’t usually color my hair but I decided that I’m going to be a “hip” mommy, so I’m going for the peek-a-boo highlight in a luscious grape – yes, purple. Sort of a grown up homage to my high school days! (This is me freaking out a little bit about turning 30)
Anyhoot, so everything around here is going well. We’re all doing good. Olivia is a really good baby, I couldn’t ask for anything more. She sleeps really good and she’s awake a lot more during the day. We’re on somewhat of a schedule, atleast at night. She goes down around 10-11, wakes up between 2 & 3am and then again around 6 – am I repeating all this? I feel like I am…well then…breastfeeding is going good, I think it’s the best diet in the world. So far, I’ve lost about 44lbs! I’m lighter now then I was before I got pregnant. I swear, I am going to be one of those women that breastfeeds until the kid can talk, and then I’m gonna pump until she’s 10! Well, atleast until I fit into a size 8. (I know, I’m psycho! But loosing weight without having to sweat is a dream come true!)
Hmmm, what else is there to say? Not much I guess, just that I am having so much fun being Olivia’s mommy. And that I’m sorry to all of my friends that I have been ignoring, especially all those stay-at-home friends, I swear, once O gets on somewhat of a nap schedule we’ll hang out!
